Campagnolo is a brand specializing in road and gravel cycling components, founded over eighty years ago by athlete and innovator Tullio Campagnolo. From the early years, the drive for innovation was strong, and Tullio sought increasingly cutting-edge solutions for his products.
In the 1930s, the company produced the first quick-release skewer, later moving on to the first rod-type derailleurs and the first pre-assembled wheels. Between the 1940s and 1950s, other components were produced, and Campagnolo worked on what would become the modern derailleur and transmission.
The 1960s marked a turning point for the company, which became an important point of reference in the component market. Its derailleurs were used by cyclists on international circuits, and Campagnolo began exporting worldwide.
In the 1970s, the type of components produced by the company expanded even further. In 2007, Campagnolo further developed its components, bringing them to 10 speeds, while the Record (used by Pantani towards the end of the 1990s) and Chorus groupsets were brought to 11 speeds. In 2009, a new 11-speed groupset was launched: the Super Record groupset.
Today, Campagnolo is an established and renowned brand worldwide. It produces electronic groupsets, rims, and wheels across all ranges, always with the goal of offering athletes high-performance, top-quality products, thanks to ongoing research and the attention to design that distinguishes them.
