The ENVE AM30 WHEEL COUPLE marks a new era for Enve in the mountain bike category. these are carbon wheels that can withstand the abuse that modern enduro racing can impose on wheels and are also perfect for Trail and All Mountain.
With a modern rim shape, a tough but snappy carbon laminate, optimization for tubeless, anti-pinch flat technology, a 30mm internal width, lifetime warranty and balanced all-mountain tuning, the AM30 is ready for anything you can throw at it.
The wheels are specially designed to maintain the fast, fast feel inherent in the ENVE DNA while adding compliance and vibration absorption.
This results in a wheel that accelerates out of turns the ENVE way, but dampens vibration in the "faster" lines we all find ourselves "unintentionally" riding. With lateral stiffness close to that of a racing wheel, the AM30 maintains a playful and fun personality that is not just here to go fast, but also to have fun.
The inner rim width of 30 mm allows these wheels to be matched with modern all-mountain tires between 2.3 and 2.6 inches wide. The 30 mm inner width ensures that the tires rest the full width on the ground and do not easily bend when cornering. In summary, 30 mm is the "right" inner rim width for the modern mountain biker and the tires we like. The patent-pending Wide Hookless Bead technology increases puncture protection.
The wheel's wide surface area distributes impact energy over a larger area, reducing the likelihood of punctures.
ENVE products are designed to require as little maintenance as possible ENVE has long used a patented process of molding spoke holes into its rims to create the strongest and lightest rim possible. By using molded spoke holes, we take advantage of carbon's unprecedented tensile strength and run the fibers uninterrupted throughout the rim, eliminating the need to drill the rims for spoke holes. This results in a stronger wheel and a better strength-to-weight ratio than a drilled rim because we are not forced to reinforce spoke holes where drilling can compromise the strength of the hole.
