The handlebar is aerodynamic, light, and rigid, and was designed in collaboration with the world’s best athletes as well as Retül Fit Specialized experts. The complete removal of components that connected the handlebar to the stem allowed the handlebar profile to be designed in a wing-like shape, providing maximum advantage in clean air at speeds reached in long solo breakaways as well as in solo sprints. A 4-watt improvement represents an advantage of 32 cm in a final 250 m sprint. When races are won by pushing the bike, this is a winning difference.By removing the stem–handlebar connecting components, this cockpit is 50 g lighter (100 mm x 420 mm) than the Rapide handlebar with a Tarmac stem.
