Swissstop is a brand of the Swiss company Borflex Rex, and is a leading manufacturer of brake pads for bicycles.
Rex Articoli Tecnici SA was founded in 1935 by Ignazio Favini and specialised in the manufacture of chemical products. Initially focused mainly on the production of adhesives for the footwear industry, it launched elastomer-based adhesives on the market in the 1950s and also began the production of rubber compounds. Later REX developed compounds for direct vulcanisation on leather uppers and focused on the production of shaped rubber soles, becoming a market leader.
Later, thanks to customer focus and continuous updating, the company specialised in bicycle brake pads. Swissstop thus became one of the most important manufacturers of brake pads and spare parts, holding one of the world records for carbon rim pads.
Today Rex employs more than 100 people in production, research and product quality analysis. Continuous development and evolution are cornerstones of the company and also ensure its future success.
