TARMAC S-WORKS SL8 RTP FRAME

The TARMAC S-WORKS SL8 RTP (READY TO PAINT) FRAME is the perfect base from which to start building the best bike in terms of speed, lightness and aerodynamics. The Specialized Ride Science Team verified that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest frame on any course: 16.6 seconds on 40km flat, 128 seconds faster on the Milan-San Remo course, 20 seconds faster on the Tourmalet climb.

TARMAC S-WORKS SL8 RTP FRAME MAIN FEATURES:

• The front end has been optimized to get the maximum benefit. The steerer tube is positioned rearward of the front of the frame's head tube to offer much lower aerodynamic drag. Thanks to the new UCI rules, a narrower and more aerodynamic seat post could be fitted to the SL8 to ensure that turbulent air in the leg area can flow more easily to the rear of the bike.
  685 gram frame, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other World Tour bike*. Lowest possible lightness in the area of the down tube, seat tube and rear of the bike. The shapes of the frame respond so efficiently to stresses that it was possible to reduce the thickness of the material, eliminating the superfluous.
• The stiffness-to-weight ratio is 33% better than the SL7. The frame is easy to handle and precise in the most demanding situations and responds immediately and efficiently to pedal inputs. The areas that ensure power transfer and steering precision are stiffer than ever, the Tarmac SL8 is more comfortable on the saddle, filtering 6% more of the stresses coming from the ground and allowing you to attack the curves with a feeling of agility and balance unique in the world of racing bikes. Same geometry as the SL7 with the same generous 32mm tire clearance, so you can use more volume when needed.
• The S-Works Tarmac SL8 frame, with 68mm threaded bottom bracket is the perfect starting point to build the bike of your dreams.
• RPT stands for "ready to paint" and is the lightest finish on S-Works frames. Perfect if you want to customize the frame with a dedicated paint job.
