SRAM RED eTap AXS e1 disc 2-speed braking system, front. The new lever design is engineered for one-finger use and its shape fits all hand sizes. The brake piston is now positioned horizontally; the pivot has also been moved farther outward and 5 mm higher, changing from a first-class lever to a second-class lever. Combined with the fact that the caliper is now lighter yet stiffer, it requires 80% less lever force than the previous eTap AXS. The lever is made of carbon, and the whole system is 83 g lighter than the previous generation.
