The biggest innovation on the Stumpjumper 15 is GENIE. This patented-pending air-spring technology we invented fulfills three wishes every rider has: the feeling and control of a coil spring, better bottom-out resistance than a standard air spring, and an adjustable platform for a playful feel.
THE ‘GENIE’: GENIE combines the linear stiffness of a coil spring — which improves control through the "impact zone" — with the progressive curve of an air spring at the end of travel to prevent bottom-outs. Truly the best of both worlds — coil and air — with extra adjustability. Say goodbye to compromise and welcome the future of suspension.
With 16.3% better impact force management compared to a traditional air-spring shock, GENIE makes the Stumpjumper 15 ride like a bike with longer travel. For example, the Stumpjumper 15 (145 mm rear wheel travel) and our Enduro (170 mm travel) both use 101 mm of stroke to absorb an impact force of 1080 N.
Extensive field testing shows the Stumpjumper 15 with GENIE provides 57% better traction than a standard air-spring shock because GENIE delivers coil-like compliance that keeps the wheel in contact with the ground for a greater percentage of the time compared to a typical air spring.
39% fewer bottom-out events compared to a standard air spring. On large hits you benefit from the progressive curve in the final 30% of GENIE travel. Thanks to its two-stage behavior, GENIE reduces both the frequency and severity of bottom-outs.

The Stumpjumper 15 integrates geometry adjustability seamlessly, making it the most customizable trail bike ever. Six distinct geometry positions let you fine-tune performance for any style and terrain. Head angle and bottom bracket height can be precisely adjusted to prioritize stability or clearance.
With our aftermarket links you can choose large wheels front and rear, or run a 27.5" rear wheel for a more playful, responsive feel. Whatever you choose, geometry is not affected.
