Greg Minnaar, a three-time downhill world champion and South African native, thought it was an appropriate name for a tyre ready for battle in the mountains.
The tread blocks offer high traction, grip and maximum grip on the terrain.
The tyre can be fitted at the rear for a more secure feel or at the front combined with a faster-rolling front tyre.
While other tyres only excel in certain conditions, the new Assegai is built to go fast everywhere.
