HOPE REAR HUB PRO 5 148 MM BOOST 32 HOLES E-BIKE

The HOPE REAR HUB PRO 5 148 MM BOOST 32 HOLES E-BIKE combines 30 years of experience with the demands of current and future cycling technologies. One of the main objectives in designing the Pro 5 hub was to reduce aerodynamic resistance in the drive mechanism. To achieve this, the sealing had to be improved with a new zero-resistance labyrinth seal and an improved ratchet and pawl system with new springs.
Another major upgrade of the rear hubs is the increase in engagement points (from 44 to 108) thanks to a staggered 6 pawl hub design, in which 3 pawls are engaged at all times. This achieves the right balance between grip speed, load capacity, strength and durability, and in real terms provides a fast feel on the trail while keeping the crank movement at an acceptable level without compromising the hub's freedom of movement or its reliability.
The hub is sold with a freewheel body specially designed for e-bikes: all six pawls engage simultaneously, resulting in both reduced effort and increased load capacity and durability. The freewheel is made entirely of stainless steel for better stability and resistance to wear.
The outer shell has a new profile to increase rigidity without increasing weight, and the new axle design allows larger bearings to be mounted in a better arrangement to match the latest body standards while increasing load capacity.
