The S5 has one mission: to reach the finish line ahead of everyone else. Under the guidance of Wout van Aert, Marianne Vos, and Christophe LaPorte, the latest model has already proven to be an unmatched racing tool. During the 2022 Tour de France, this bike helped Wout achieve the highest points classification score in the modern era. At 480 points, Wout had a 194-point lead over his closest rival—a clear sign that Cervélo continues to deliver aerodynamic advantages to its World Tour athletes.

The new S5 has reduced aerodynamic drag by 65 grams while increasing the frame surface area and reducing overall weight. The deeper frame sections take full advantage of UCI-compliant shapes. The iconic V-stem has been further refined, and the new fork is designed to simplify the entire front-end setup.

In partnership with Reserve, Cervélo has developed a revolutionary new wheel concept to improve stability and reduce aerodynamic drag in turbulent wind conditions.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE CERVÉLO S5 DURA-ACE DI2 28:

• V is for Velocity: In pursuit of speed, everyone wants to try different positions to find their most aggressive fit. The S5's iconic V-stem not only ensures confident handling at high speeds, but it’s now also remarkably easy to adjust. All necessary spacers are included, and a single bolt length simplifies the system, reducing weight by 53g.
• Frame Enhancements: New UCI regulations on aerodynamic design gave us room to deepen aero profiles, gaining 65 more grams of drag performance on what was already the fastest aero bike on the market. You’ll notice a deeper head tube and bottom bracket area, plus more aggressive shaping on the trailing edges. Since the new S5 is only compatible with electronic shifting, we cleaned up the dropout area and refined tube shaping across the frame.
• Turbulent Aerodynamics: Reserve and Cervélo collaborated to engineer and test wheels optimized for turbulent aerodynamic conditions. Traditional wind tunnels measure in ideal laminar flow, which is unrealistic in real-world riding. So we helped Reserve develop rim profiles that stall less at higher yaw angles. In practical terms: more stability, more grip, and more confidence at speed. The Reserve 52/63 wheels are 50g faster in laminar flow and 54g faster in turbulent flow than the previous 50/65 set.
• Tire Clearance: Wider wheels and tires are faster aerodynamically and more comfortable. The S5 comes with 28mm tires but allows clearance for up to 34mm (measured). The frame is optimized for the wider Reserve 52/63 wheels. This setup improves handling and saves over 5 watts compared to the previous Reserve wheelset.
• Handlebar Refinement: We’ve improved handlebar comfort and reshaped it for a seamless flat transition to the hoods. A new two-bolt interface now allows infinite tilt adjustments between 0 and 5 degrees.
• Keeping it Simple: Bike fitters are moving away from long-offset seat posts, and the new S5 includes a 15mm offset seat post on most sizes (vs. 25mm previously). The older seat posts remain compatible, and we’ll keep the 400mm/25mm offset version available for riders needing a more extreme fit.
