CERVELO S5 FORCE AXS 28 BIKE

The S5 has a single goal: to reach the finish line ahead of everyone else. Under the guidance of Wout van Aert, Marianne Vos, and Christophe LaPorte, the new model has already proven to be an unmatched tool. In the 2022 Tour de France, this bike helped Wout achieve the highest points classification score of the modern era. At 480 points, Wout had around 194 points more than his closest rival: concrete proof that Cervélo continues to deliver aerodynamic advantages to its World Tour athletes.

The new S5 has reduced aerodynamic drag by 65 grams and increased the frame surface area, while also lowering the overall weight. The deeper tube sections maximize the UCI-permitted shapes. The iconic V-stem has been further refined, and the new fork has been designed to simplify the entire front end.

In collaboration with Reserve, a new and revolutionary wheel concept was developed to increase stability and reduce aerodynamic drag in turbulent conditions.

CERVELO S5 FORCE AXS 28 KEY FEATURES:

• V is for Velocity: In the pursuit of speed, everyone wants to try different positions to find their most aggressive fit. The S5’s iconic V-stem not only provides confident handling at high speeds, but is now also incredibly easy to adjust. All necessary spacers are included with the bike, and there’s now only one bolt length, reducing complexity and saving 53g.
• Frame Enhancements: The UCI’s new aerodynamic design rules gave us more freedom to deepen profiles and squeeze out 65 more grams of aerodynamic performance from what is already the fastest aero bike on the market. You’ll notice a deeper head tube and bottom bracket area, and more aggressive shaping of the tube trailing edges. Since the new S5 is only compatible with electronic shifting, we were able to tidy up the dropout area and refine the overall shaping.
• Turbulent Aerodynamics: Reserve and Cervélo partnered to develop a completely new way of engineering and testing wheels for performance in turbulent aerodynamic conditions. Wind tunnels typically test in ideal “laminar” flow, but that’s not real-world riding. We helped Reserve create rim profiles that stall less dramatically at greater yaw angles—practically speaking, that means more stability, more grip, and more rider confidence. You go faster because you feel comfortable going faster. The Reserve 52/63 is 50g faster in laminar flow and 54g faster in turbulent flow compared to the previous Reserve 50/65 setup.
• Tire Clearance: Wider wheels and tires are faster aerodynamically—and more comfortable. The S5 comes with 28mm tires but has clearance for up to 34mm (measured). The frame is optimized to pair with the wider, turbulent-aero Reserve 52/63 wheels. In addition to handling benefits, this saves over 5 watts compared to the previous Reserve wheelset.
• Handlebar Refinement: We improved handlebar comfort and tweaked the shape to create a perfectly flat transition from bar to hood. We now use a two-bolt interface that allows infinite tilt adjustment from 0 to 5 degrees.
• Keeping it Simple: Bike fitters at every level are moving away from long-offset seat posts, and the new S5 comes with a 15mm offset post on most sizes (vs 25mm on the previous model). The older posts remain forward-compatible, and we’ll continue to stock the 400mm-long, 25mm offset version for those looking for a more extreme fit.
