YETI SB150T KIT T1 FRAME

The new MTB Yeti SB150T looks like a bike with an extreme Enduro vocation and 29 ”wheel format, without compromise.

The chassis is very similar to the younger sister Yeti SB100, in which the beating heart remains the classic Switch Infinity system, proprietary technology of the American brand.

Combined with the rear with 150mm of travel and a fork with 170mm of travel, this system introduced in the now distant 2014 uses a connecting rod that slides on two small stems positioned in the lower part of the front triangle that create a floating pivot, in so as to allow you to precisely control the compression curve of the suspension with an antisquat very present in the central part of the ride that gives optimal pedaling performance.

The system has not undergone major changes therefore while the most substantial updates have been the levers that connect the wagon to the shock absorber: the feeling now is that of having a much more compact and often wagon that leaves no room for lateral bending.

The shock absorber is no longer connected directly to the carriage but there is a small connecting rod with crossed arms that acts as a "bridge" called Shock Link.

The internal cable routing was then improved by creating guides to speed up and simplify maintenance operations on the brakes, transmission and telescopic seatpost.

The wagon stop is obviously Boost 148 × 12 mm while the compatibility for the tires goes up to sections of 2.5 inches.

The geometries are aggressive with a 64.5 ° steering angle, the seat tube angle is 77 °, while the low chainstays measure 433 mm.

If we talk about integrated protections we can see in the lower part of the front triangle a solid rubber bumper while on the rear carriage there is a rubber cover on the transmission side to prevent the chain from damaging the paint and therefore the carbon fiber.

Unlike what was thought in the past, the reduced offset allows to have significant advantages in terms of responsiveness and driving precision without sacrificing stability: this is due to the mix between this dimension and the new geometries of modern enduro frames that have a very long front triangles and decidedly open steering angles.

Speaking of the steering zone, Yeti informs us that this frame has been certified with DH standards, that is, subjected to tests that are much more stressful and harder than those for enduro frames.

This means that the rigidity and structural solidity are significantly greater than frames in the same category. Another good news that bikers will appreciate is the possibility of mounting the bottle cage inside the front triangle: the new shape of the much more angular frame has made it possible to obtain a large space in the low area near the Switch Infinity.
