The S5 has one job: to cross the finish line first. Under the guidance of Wout van Aert, Marianne Vos, and Christophe LaPorte, the new model has already proven to be an unmatched machine. At the 2022 Tour de France, this bike helped Wout achieve the highest points classification score of the modern era. With 480 points—about 194 ahead of his closest rival—it’s a clear sign that Cervélo continues to deliver aerodynamic advantages to its World Tour athletes.

The new S5 has reduced aerodynamic drag by 65 grams and increased the frame surface area while also reducing overall weight. The deeper frame sections maximize UCI-legal shapes. The iconic V-stem has been further refined, and the new fork is designed to simplify the entire front end.

In partnership with Reserve, a revolutionary new wheel concept was developed to increase stability and reduce aerodynamic drag in turbulent conditions.

KEY FEATURES OF THE CERVELO S5 FORCE ULTEGRA DI2 28 BIKE:

• V is for Velocity: In pursuit of speed, everyone wants to experiment with different positions to find the most aggressive fit. The iconic S5 V-stem not only ensures confident handling at high speed, but is now also incredibly easy to adjust. All necessary spacers are included with the bike, and there’s now only one bolt length, reducing complexity and cutting 53 g of weight from the system.
• Frame Improvements: New UCI regulations on aero design gave us the freedom to deepen the profiles and squeeze out 65 more grams of aero performance from what was already the fastest aero bike on the market. Look for a deeper head tube and bottom bracket area, along with more aggressive trailing edge shaping. Since the new S5 is electronic-only, we were able to simplify the dropout area and update tubing shapes throughout the frame.
• Turbulent Aerodynamics: Reserve and Cervélo collaborated to develop a completely new approach to wheel design and testing, optimizing for real-world turbulent airflow. Wind tunnels typically measure performance in "laminar" flow, which isn't realistic. We helped Reserve create rim shapes that stall less abruptly at wider yaw angles—meaning greater stability, more grip, and more confidence. You'll go faster because you feel more in control. The Reserve 52/63 set is 50 g faster in laminar flow and 54 g faster in turbulent conditions compared to the previous Reserve 50/65 set.
• Tire Clearance: Wider wheels and tires are faster aerodynamically and more comfortable. The S5 comes with 28 mm tires but has clearance for up to 34 mm measured. The frame is optimized for the wider, turbulence-ready Reserve 52/63 wheels. Besides improved handling, this setup saves over 5 watts compared to the previous Reserve wheelset.
• Handlebar Refinement: We've improved handlebar comfort and reshaped the interface for a perfectly flat transition to the shifters. We now use a two-bolt interface that allows continuous tilt adjustment between 0 and 5 degrees.
• Simplicity: Bike fitters at all levels are moving away from long-offset seatposts. The new S5 ships with a 15 mm offset post for most sizes (compared to 25 mm on the previous model). The old seatposts are still compatible, and we’ll continue to offer the 400 mm post with 25 mm offset for riders looking for a more extreme fit.
