The optimization process
The optimization of a CeramicSpeed UFO chain is a multi-stage process that begins with a surface polishing method of the link sliding surfaces that removes surface roughness that produces friction and manufacturing imperfections. The chain is then followed by a cleaning to completely remove the inefficient factory lubricant and friction-producing contaminants. Subsequent stages involve infusing the chain at optimal temperatures with the optimization blend. The entire process allows the sliding surfaces of an ultra-fast CeramicSpeed UFO chain to have distinct lubricating layers that work together as a system for maximum chain efficiency.

Mounting the CeramicSpeed UFO chain
Mounting the new optimized chain is no different from installing any other chain. Use the disposable gloves provided in the package and make sure to cover the floor when installing the CeramicSpeed UFO Racing chain. Always connect the chain with the provided link. Reusing the link is not recommended. To install the chain, a chain tool is required. Shorten the chain to the optimal length. When cutting the chain with the chain tool, remember that the cut must be made so that both chain ends are inner plates. Connect the two pieces of the link at the point where the link rivet aligns with the hole in the link plate, then pull the chain to engage the lock.

Maintenance of the UFO KMC 11S Factory Optimized chain
To benefit from all the advantages of the CeramicSpeed UFO Racing chain, there is no need to wash the chain before exceeding the mileage of 650 km. However, if the chain needs to be cleaned, use a dry cloth or a soft brush and carefully remove dirt from the chain. When removing the chain for maintenance or cleaning, remember to reinstall it in the same direction as before. In light rain, where the chain has not been exposed to water for more than a few minutes, the chain performance should not be compromised.
In light rain, it is recommended to apply the UFO Drip Chain Coating. Let the UFO Drip Chain Coating dry before riding. In heavy downpours, it is recommended to apply a layer of UFO Drip Wet Conditions to the surface of the UFO chain to prolong optimization durability.
After 650 km, the chain can be maintained, keeping in mind that traces of optimization are still present on the chain. When using the UFO Drip Chain Coating, after 650 km, follow the instructions on the bottle. Note that the significant watt savings of 2-5 watts are achieved in the first 650 km and decrease slightly after the UFO treatment is depleted.
