One of the main design goals of the Pro 5 hub was the reduction of aerodynamic resistance in the drive mechanism. To achieve this result, it was necessary to improve the sealing with a new zero-resistance labyrinth seal and an improved ratchet and pawl system with new springs.Another important update to the rear hubs is the increase in engagement points (from 44 to 108) thanks to a 6-offset pawl hub design, in which 3 pawls are engaged at any one time. In this way it is possible to achieve the right balance between pick-up speed, load capacity, strength and durability, and in real terms you get a feeling of speed on the trail while keeping crank movement at an acceptable level without compromising hub free movement or its reliability. The outer shell has a new profile to increase stiffness without increasing weight and the new axle design allows the use of larger bearings in a better arrangement to suit the latest freehub standards, while at the same time increasing load capacity.
