The HOPE FRONT HUB PRO 5 110 MM 32 HOLES combines 30 years of experience with the demands of current and future cycling technologies. One of the main objectives in designing the Pro 5 hub was the reduction of rolling resistance in the drive mechanism. To achieve this result it was necessary to improve sealing with a new zero-resistance labyrinth seal and an improved ratchet and pawl system, with new springs.
Another important upgrade of the rear mozzi consists in increasing the points of engagement (from 44 to 108) thanks to a 6-offset-pawl hub design, in which 3 pawls are engaged at any time. In this way it is possible to achieve the right balance between pickup speed, load capacity, strength and durability, and in real terms you get a feeling of speed on the trail while keeping crank movement at an acceptable level without compromising the hub’s freedom of movement or its reliability. The outer part of the shell has a new profile to increase stiffness without increasing weight, and the new axle design allows the installation of larger bearings in a better arrangement to fit the latest freehub standards, while at the same time increasing load capacity.
