The SANTA CRUZ HECKLER 9 C S MX is an e-mtb with a larger swappable battery (720wh from 504wh), allowing riders to expand their map of routes, accessing trails previously unreachable, unlocking less-used paths and getting more in less time.What sets Santa Cruz e-bikes apart from the crowd is the bike’s track behavior: the frame’s layering and design are robust enough to handle the amount of riding ebikes enable.The geometry has been refined through numerous tests and feedback to make riding fun both uphill and downhill. Finally, the legendary VPP suspension has been tuned specifically for use on e-bikes. The 150 mm rear travel (with a 160 mm fork) makes the bike perfect for tackling all trails with a slightly lower anti-squat to ensure traction similar to glue on the climbs you’ll challenge.

Making the lightest bike possible has always been the race within the race, but at what cost? The battle of the grams has certainly not been without casualties, and XC hardtail bikes have become known for a harsh, nervous ride that sacrificed capability and versatility.
But who said that straining against your bike makes you faster? It should be recognized instead that the fastest bike is more than just a light bike. No more death-by-shocks, measuring-back-pain-by-distance, and on with the new thinking. The Epic Hardtail, ridiculously capable, mystically comfortable, light enough to turn heads, and fast all around.
Of course, we optimized every small detail of the Epic Hardtail to still achieve the lightest production frame in the world, but our aim was mainly to create an Epic Hardtail capable and comfortable with aggressive geometry inspired by singletrack, ample space for tires, and excellent vertical-plane absorption — all in creating a bike that lives and breathes the foundations of speed.

For the biker with a Peter Pan soul or for those who love the flat tabletop style, the Bronson unquestionably encourages a bold, over-the-top style. The Bronson’s appearance has radically changed. All this work does not stem from the ego of a designer, it was not simply thought to stand out on the market. Moving the lower link position and the shock now lower and more forward was essential to lower anti-squat for a wild bike like the Bronson. Anti-squat manifests when the push from your pedaling ends up stiffening the suspension. Every time you meet an obstacle, a bump, the chain, and thus the pedals, are effectively jerked backward. If anti-squat is insufficient, the bike will squat under the pedaling force. If it is too much, the bike will be “hard” and will not be able to absorb the irregularities encountered while under load. By shifting any of the VPP™ pivots a few millimeters in any direction, you achieve extraordinary adjustments to the ride quality. The lower VPP™ link is now positioned lower and slightly more forward to optimize anti-squat. The result is a sense of softness, unparalleled feel, and great traction.
