The Chisel is the lightest full-suspension alloy bike in the world. It’s 18.4% lighter than similar models in the category and, thanks to the kinematics and geometry of its big sister Epic 8, the Chisel delivers excellent performance on every ride. SPEED METAL: Thanks to D'Aluisio Smartweld, the Chisel boasts the lightest XC aluminum frame in its class. Each frame tube is highly manipulated and features varied thicknesses and profiles that provide stiffness where needed, for efficiency, vibration absorption, comfort, and optimal control. CAPABILITY: with 110mm Ride Dynamics-tuned suspension travel, the Chisel’s performance pedigree can be traced directly to the Epic 8, our World Cup racing machine. The DNA of the Epic 8’s advanced suspension kinematics, Ride Dynamics-tuned suspension, and progressive geometry refined on technical World Cup courses can all be found in the Chisel, making it more than capable of handling varied terrain with confidence and speed. EFFICIENCY: The Chisel is the most efficient bike in its category, thanks to the geometry and kinematics developed for the Epic 8. The forward seat tube places the rider in an optimal pedaling position. Optimized anti-squat reduces pedal bob. Put it all together and you’ll understand how the Chisel translates every watt on the pedals into maximum forward motion. SMOOTHER IS FASTER: We designed Flex Stay stays so the suspension would be class-leading while eliminating the added weight and maintenance of pivots used in traditional designs. Extensive field and lab testing proved the Chisel achieved the impossible: the efficiency, control, and lightness of the Flex Stay design—common on carbon bikes—with advanced alloy. HYDROFORMED ALLOY: The one-piece hydroformed seat tube includes the bearing seat and the bottom bracket shell, unlike a traditional alloy bike where the two components are welded. This way, the Chisel lima further material and weight.

To achieve a low height and easy, agile bike handling, the shock has been semi-integrated into the top tube. This provides ample space to move and keeps your knees away from any edges, grips or levers. Nevertheless, all parts for adjusting the shock settings are easy to reach. Moreover, if you prefer an even cleaner cockpit, you can easily remove the Kiox display. GREAT CAPABILITY: the 120mm travel and progressive geometry make the Epic 8 extremely capable on technical trails, very fast and efficient uphill and incredibly responsive and snappy in acceleration. The torsional and lateral stiffness also ensures perfect steering precision.
WHAT BUMPS?: Compared to the previous model, the Epic 8 absorbs 12% more impact forces and vibrations, so you get less tired and can use your energy better to push harder on the pedals.
RIDE DYNAMICS: The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has developed a custom tuning for the Epic 8 shock, whose characteristics enhance the holistic riding experience. The specific tuning developed together with the leverage ratios and the renewed kinematics exponentially improves handling.
BIOMECHANICAL EFFICIENCY: By optimizing the kinematics of the Epic 8, the Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has reduced pedal-induced movement by 20% while keeping the suspensions active for more effective bump management. This way the rider is able to maintain the most efficient pedaling position. The result is the most efficient full-suspension bike we have ever made.
MORE WITH LESS: With the Epic 8 we have not added a single gram of weight to improve its features. All models now come with SWAT 4.0 and an integrated steering stop to prevent frame damage in caso of a slide.

One of the lightest alloy hardtail frames on the market, weighing 1,350 g, which also features size-specific stiffness.
The Chisel is also equipped with all the modern features you would expect from an XC bike, such as Progressive XC geometry with a 68-degree head angle and longer reach, internal cable routing, threaded bottom bracket, Boost spacing, compatibility with 30.9 mm dropper posts, and 1x drivetrains only.
