The SPECIALIZED S-WORKS PREVAIL 3 MIPS is a road bike helmet with high levels of comfort, thermoregulation and ventilation. It is the ultimate helmet for various uses, excelling in hot conditions, demanding climbs and mountain stages.The central “bridges” made of foam material, which block the aria from the center, effectively creating canali that increase the ventilation surface by 24.5% compared to the S-Works Prevail II Vent, have been eliminated and the helmet features the widest ventilation area ever made by Specialized. In caso of impact the task of the helmet is to dissipate the energy generated and more EPS foam means better energy management: the aramid cables run through the helmet and are anchored to the carbon fiber side panels. In the context of our exclusive partnership with KTH Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Mips, we shared the CAD designs of our helmets and studied the still-soft skulls of young children with finite element analysis (FEA). Since children’s heads are softer and are growing, through this collaboration we established the need to use low-density foam, and in a greater amount.
INNOVATION ON THE BASE OF DATA: As a result of our collaboration with KTH and Mips, for the Shuffle 2 LED casco, adding 18% more low-density foam increased the casco solo by 5% in overall size.
COMFORT: The Shuffle 2 LED casco has many technological features, which however are functional only if worn in the modo correct. Ecco why the sizes are child-specific and why we use the SX retention system that helps achieve the right and comfortable fit. The Tri-Fix device ensures easy strap adjustment.
LED LIGHT: On the back of this Shuffle 2 casco there is an LED light for greater visibility to motorists. The light integrates perfectly into the design, so kids are happy to wear it, and parents can be confident their son or daughter is always highly visible.

CASCO SPECIALIZED DISSIDENT 2 MIPS
In developing the Dissident II we collaborated with athletes Loïc Bruni and Finn Iles, in order to design a casco that would meet the needs of the downhill race circuit. With five EPS inserts we were able to vary the density of the expanded foam depending on its position inside the casco – allowing us to create a lightweight casco and, at the same time, manage the energy of any impacts in the best possible way. The softer foam absorbs more energy in impacts. The Dissident II casco also features the MIPS Evolve Solution system – which helps redirect the rotational movimenti of impacts. For the Evolve Solution we used fabric to secure the internal pockets, eliminating any noise.
Coolness is not just a mental matter, it is difficult to concentrate if it is very hot, especially if it feels like you are in a sauna with your head. We therefore decided to improve the ventilation system to let a greater amount of aria in, with strategic vents to far fuoriuscire the aria calda, keeping the rider’s head fresh and comfortable in any situation.
Especially in the context of a race, it is very important that the casco is cool, light and not bulky, because it reduces rider fatigue and improves reactivity. The construction with inserts provides lightness without compromising protection. We do non know what was going through Finn Iles’ head during his winning run in Mont-Sainte-Anne, but we do know that he did not have to worry about the casco. The Dissident II is the perfect choice, whether you are racing in the World Cup or in local Enduro races.
