The casco S-Works TT 5 is an excellent example of our Made In Racing approach. Remco Evenepoel and Kasper Asgreen of Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl spent countless hours in our Win Tunnel until we obtained the fastest TT casco we have ever made. Using CFD modeling, the casco team redesigned the TT casco by positioning the rear of the casco closer to the rider’s shoulders, reducing the vortice d'aria that creates drag. The casco S-Works TT 5 features a Classe 1 optical shield for zero distortion when looking at la strada, unlike traditional lenti that are typically formed with clear plastic. The shield has a water-repellent coating to help shed moisture in caso of bad weather on race day, as well as a high-quality anti-fog coating (EN166). Occipital base adjustment optimizes comfort by tailoring the fit to the individual head forma, and the angle of the casco can be adjusted for compatibility with glasses. An adjustable web Tri-Fix system gives riders added comfort with 10 mm thinner straps that reduce strap noise. Our ultra-light and extremely comfortable MIPS Node Air technology is integrated directly into the casco padding, with uno smooth low-friction layer designed to dissipate rotational forces. With Specialized proprietary development work, we added perforations to maximize breathability, performance, comfort, and weight savings. Cleat release is guided by fixed pins for easier and more consistent disengagement.Hope’s mechanism uses a specific cleat that is not compatible with all other systems. The pedals are sold with 2 cleat options: cleat number 4 offers 4° of float and has a 12° release angle, while cleat number offers 5° of float and has a release angle of 13 and has greater release effort for aggressive riding. Both cleats also allow 2 mm of lateral float (side to side).The pedal body is CNC machined from billet and is designed to maximize contact between shoe/cleat and pedal body for greater stability and power transfer.

The trend toward wider tires continues to increase and ever lower tire pressures pose new challenges for rims. Sidewall protection is also an issue on narrow rims with wide tires. Hope is addressing this need with the new Fortus rims. The welded rims are made of 6061 aluminum. The Fortus 30 has greater strength thanks to two additional hollow chambers. The spoke holes are equipped with eyelets for easy wheel building and improved durability. During the optimization of the rim profile, of course, the tubeless capability was also preserved. The installation of tubeless tires is as easy as with all other HOPE rims.
