The days when meeting up with your hardtail meant feeling the consequences for days are over. The Epic Hardtail Comp changes the game and combines comfort and capability with lightness. Building the lightest bike possible has always been the race within the race, but at what cost? The battle of grams has certainly not been without casualties, and XC hardtail bikes became known for a harsh, twitchy ride that compromised capability and versatility.
But who said that fighting against your bike makes you faster? Instead, it must be acknowledged that the fastest bike is more than just a light bike. Enough with the shake-you-to-death, measuring-backside-pain-by-distance approach, and forward with new thinking. The Epic Hardtail—ridiculously capable, mystically comfortable, head-turningly light, and all-around fast.
Sure, we optimized every small detail of the Epic Hardtail to still create the lightest mass-production frame in the world, but our commitment was above all to create an Epic Hardtail that is capable and comfortable with aggressive singletrack-inspired geometry, ample clearance for tires, and excellent vertical compliance—all in creating a bike that lives and breathes the foundations of speed.
