The UNI interface compatible with shimano I-SPEC EV has been specially designed for Trickstuff disc brake levers. In addition to the axial adjustment range of 14 mm, it offers an angular adjustment range of about 40 degrees and can only be mounted on the right side. In this case, the mounting point of the shifter lever moves further inward, toward the center of the handlebar.

Trickstuff brake rotors have been the first choice for many years when particularly high braking loads need to be managed. Thanks to the chamfer on the outer circumference, inserting the brake rotor into the caliper is simplified. It ensures reliable braking even on long descents and in caso of continuous braking.
Trickstuff guarantees an extremely precise rotor thickness of plus/minus 0.005 millimeters; the final dimension is 2.05 millimeters. A special-quality stainless steel is used, hardened at 1,100°C and with a hardness of at least 36 HRC.

With the MAXIMA we wanted to put fine to any discussion about the most powerful bicycle brake. It is the most powerful brake we have ever built and therefore the most powerful bicycle brake al mondo. Building a powerful brake was actually quite simple. Less trivial was building a brake that, despite its great power, had the usual exceptional modulation of all Trickstuff brakes. After all, power is worth nothing without control.
It seems to have worked. Our test riders Mick Hannah, Jakob Breitwieser, Nina Hoffmann and Gee & Rachel Atherton are enthusiastic. They have already won numerous World Cup Downhill medals with the MAXIMA.
PAIR OF TRICKSTUFF MAXIMA BRAKES MAIN FEATURES:
ERGONOMICS: Nothing disturbs and annoys on the finger rest as much as angles and edges. Ecco why we do not have even uno at the point of contact between brake and rider. The forma of the surface, created with special milling heads, ensures braking without pressure points even after kilometers of descents.The finger rest is also free from annoying friction points such as holes, grooves or depressions. The brake lever must not tame the finger, but the finger must tame the lever. During the natural braking movement, the finger slides on the brake lever the closer it gets to the handlebar. This movement must be supported by a smooth surface and not hindered by static friction. This means that the mano does not have to rotate to compensate: the handlebar remains firmly in the grip. Try it.
HANDLEBAR CLAMP: The two-part milled handlebar clamp is significantly più stabile than the previous band clamp and generously compensates for handlebar tolerances. Naturally, it is prepared for use with our interfaces for shift levers or hydraulic seatpost levers.
TOOL-FREE LEVER REACH ADJUSTMENT: Simple, efficient, appreciated by our riders: for quick brake adjustment for the next track.
BRAKE LINEThe MAXIMA comes with Goodridge steel brake hoses. The stainless steel braid ensures the brake hose most resistant to pressure of all bicycle brakes. The result is a defined pressure point despite the enormous transmission ratio.
The flexible Goodridge steel brake hose has a diameter of 6 mm (compared to 5 mm of the altri brake hoses). Therefore, it does not pass through the openings for internal cable routing on all frames. If this is a problem for you, we will be happy to supply you with a “bare” steel hose. This has a diameter of 5 mm, since the steel mesh is not coated with plastic.
The MAXIMA is also available with a Kevlar hose resistant to alte pressures (5 mm).
DOT versus oil? No altra question occupies the minds of brake experts più than the issue of brake fluid. It is more a religious than a technical question.The fact is that – and practice proves it – both work! Both work! For the MAXIMA we opted for oil, but not just any oil: our Bionol by DANICO is a vegetable oil with a very high boiling point: 300° C, i.e. higher than the boiling point of DOT 5.1. The result: even greater protection against boiling. The result: even greater protection against boiling of the brake fluid.
BRAKE PADSFor the MAXIMA we adopted the forma of the Hope V4 brake pads. This pad has a large surface area and contributes to the stability of the MAXIMA. Like all Trickstuff brakes, the MAXIMA is approved for the use of pads and rotors from third-party suppliers.

Trickstuff brake discs have been the first choice for many years when particularly high braking loads need to be handled. With the help of the proven friction ring with its special hole arrangement, it is possible to successfully counteract the dreaded glazing of the pads.The new brake discs also have a roof-shaped (Dächle) chamfer on the outer circumference, which greatly simplifies the installation of the rotor, as the rounded chamfer makes it easier to insert the brake disc into the caliper.In addition, the friction ring has a greater amount of material than most current brake discs. In fact, the heat that is inevitably generated during braking must be absorbed mainly by the brake disc and then released into the ambient air. Thanks to the presence of more material, the new Trickstuff discs ensure worry-free braking on long descents and during continuous braking and are the ideal complement to all current super lightweight brake calipers.

The Trickstuff Direttissima disc brake impresses with its stability, defined bite point and fine modulation. The four pistons of the C42 brake caliper provide great braking power. In terms of ergonomics, the lever reach offers a wide adjustment range. The brake does its job reliably even with higher system weights, for example on e-bikes, and is characterized by excellent heat management. This is due to the use of particularly temperature-stable Bionol, which, among other things, causes no problems even down to -15 °C, stainless steel pistons and POWER+ insulating brake pads. The clear bite point is created by the finely tuned transmission ratio from the lever to the brake and promotes intuitive operation. Trickstuff optimizes the modulation capability by consistently reducing friction in the system: virtually frictionless roller bearings, PU seals at the contact points, high-pressure Kevlar-reinforced hoses and a lever with 4x bearings all contribute.
The Direttissima has a progressive braking force characteristic, which means that the more you pull the lever, the more the brakes are applied. The feeling of having to pull ever harder on long descents to achieve the same braking power is a thing of the past. Speaking of the lever: it has been designed in such a way that no surface structure can irritate the user while braking and the finger can slide as the lever is pulled in. This means you do not need to twist your hand, and you can maintain a full grip on the handlebar. The two-piece milled clamp compensates for minimal deviations in handlebar circumference. The brake set consists of parts for the front and rear wheel.

MODULATION: Friction in the system is the enemy of good modulation. The consistent use of roller bearings and special PU seals minimizes the internal friction of the Direttissima, ensuring exceptionally sensitive modulation.
BITE POINT: Simple operation is not possible if the bite point is as hard as wood or soft and spongy. The key lies in the ratio between the control pistons and the lever kinematics. The increase in the overall transmission ratio compared to the previous model results in a well-defined but pleasantly elastic bite point.
ERGONOMICS: The Direttissima lever has no corners or edges. It has been shaped with specially made milling heads to ensure braking without pressure points even after kilometers of descents. Holes, grooves or recesses have also been omitted to accommodate the finger’s natural sliding movement. - STABILITY: the Direttissima also stands out for the much-cited stability of the CLEG. The polished stainless steel brake pistons and heat-insulating organic pads reduce heat transfer to the brake fluid and protect the seals. With the matching Trickstuff Dächle brake disc (disc thickness 2.05 mm, available separately) it is possible to further optimize the stability of the Direttissima. - CHARACTERISTIC CURVE
CURVE: A sophisticated lever mechanism with a knee-lever effect on the Direttissima creates a characteristic curve for braking force. The harder you pull, the greater the transmission ratio – and thus the braking force.
