The sella shape has been designed following Body Geometry criteria and, together with Mirror technology, creates proper support for the ischial tuberosities, perfect for both off-road and road use.Compared to traditional saddles this model significantly reduces the pressure that causes pain. Inside the sella there are two goccia-shaped inserts and the Mirror technology is positioned in the contact area of the ischial tuberosities.The sella has a central cut-out and the patented Body Geometry design reduces pressure and improves blood flow. Thanks to the Body Geometry methodology, Retül data and decades of work and experience of Specialized, the 3d printed matrix and design to distribute pressure where the ischial tuberosities rest over a larger surface create a hammock effect so that it is the sella that supports the weight, not the tissue around the bones.

The BOA® cable has been positioned lower and angled so that the forefoot does not lift. Thanks to this evolution, it has been possible to eliminate the velcro strap and the structure of the shoe improves power and eliminates unwanted pressure and pinching. The brand-new SCARPE SPECIALIZED S-WORKS RECON SHOE bring to the off-road mondo the performance offered by road shoes. Thanks to over 100,000 foot scans extracted from RETÜL data, a wider carbon sole has been introduced to better fit all shapes of the human foot. An internal I-Beam adds rigidity and strength, avoiding the need for additional reinforcements. The result is a shoe with a comfortable, adjustable fit and sufficient stiffness to transfer all the power to the pedals. The inside and outside of the shoe are made following Body Geometry criteria: thanks to 20 years of studies and development, this shoe has no weak points, but only high performance when you pedal. Thanks to the varo thickness, the longitudinal arco and the metatarsal button, the foot remains in the correct position while pedaling and always stays aligned with the knees and hips.

The sella takes inspiration from the S-Works Power, with a short forma, but features a revolutionary construction methodology: the Mirror technology is based on 3D printing of a liquid polymer that enables the creation of a struttura unica with a honeycomb design, able to provide the correct support to the ischial tuberosities, evenly distributing the rider’s weight and eliminating annoying pressure points.
The honeycomb structure is composed of about 14,000 elastic components, joined in about 7,800 nodes. The lattice is perfectly tuned to achieve diverse densities in the various zone of the sella, in modo to optimize comfort. In this modo the sella perfectly reflects the rider’s anatomy. The shell and rails are made of FACT carbon and the sella is compatible with the SWAT system.
