The SPECIALIZED ROVAL RAPIDE COCKPIT HANDLEBAR 110mm x 440mm is much more than the fastest way to reach the finish line. It offers aerodynamic advantages by shaving off a further four watts from the super-fast combination of Rapide handlebar with Tarmac stem. The handlebar is aerodynamic, lightweight, stiff and was designed in collaboration both with the best athletes del mondo and with the Retül Fit Specialized experts. The complete removal of the components that connected the stem and the handlebar made it possible to design the profile of the handlebar in modo wing-shaped and provide both maximum advantage in aria clean at speeds found in long solo breakaways and in solo sprints. An improvement of 4 watts represents an advantage of 32 cm on a 250 m final sprint. When races are won by throwing the bike, this is a winning difference.By removing the connection components between the stem and the handlebar this cockpit is 50 g lighter (100 mm x 420 mm) compared to the combination of Rapide handlebar with Tarmac stem. The cockpit is entirely made of premium high-modulus carbon fiber which offers all the stiffness needed for sprinters and has a higher stiffness/weight ratio than any two-piece system ever made by Specialized.The 15 diverse combinations of stem and handlebar, all at -6 degrees, allow you to find the right position on the sella: the radius from the alto to the drops has been sculpted for wrist freedom of movement both out of the saddle and tucked away in an aerodynamic position, while curvature and flare reprise the Rapide handlebar.

SPEEDCORE
The highest-performing tubeless-ready road structure of the Pirelli gamma involves the use of a layer of compound mixed with aramid that coats the inner layer of the tyre, enabling it to hold air. This new structure makes the tyre more resistant, thanks to the presence of aramid, but at the same time less rigid and faster, due to the greater flexibility of the compound compared to a bead-to-bead fabric. The casing is then completed by a tela in Nylon with 120 tpi and by a puncture-protection layer, also in aramid.

The R5 has only one task: to reach the top, fast. But for all the glory and fanfare that come with a summit finish, it is rarely the only climb of the day. And even if a race is usually not won on the descent, it can certainly be lost there. A climbing bike that is not able to tackle a hairpin bend is a bit like a tazza of decaffeinated coffee. This is the fourth iteration of the R5, and while the weight and stiffness have varied over the years, the handling, poise and unmatched descending ability have remained constant from day one.
FASTER IN EVERY DIRECTION
The new R5 frame is 130 g lighter than the previous model, a 16% reduction compared to an already light frame. Furthermore, even if aerodynamics was not a goal for this frame as it would be for an S5 or a P5, routing the cables internally has reduced aerodynamic drag by 25 g.

The pair has been designed as a system and our engineers have tested every part of it – the mozzi, the rims, the spokes – and development started from the Tubeless tires. The result is a wheelset weighing 1250 grams, with an unrivaled ride quality.
The hooked rim design of the Alpinist CLX II (which allows you to reach a pressure of 110 psi if that is what you want) ensures a perfect tire hold and an easy installation. All this in a lightweight wheelset that exceeds quasi twice the current strength standards.
