The lightest road racing bike in the world, created for the pure pleasure of riding, the Aethos now once again breaks with tradition. This Limited Edition will be produced in only 300 units worldwide. Each features a hand-dip paint finish and is equipped with the new Campagnolo Super Record EPS groupset and Hyperon wheels. The S-Works Aethos LTD with Campagnolo Super Record EPS sets a new benchmark in the ultra high-end road bike category.

Creating the lightest mass-production frame in the world—585 grams—was the result of 49 years of experience, and this is the ideal canvas to celebrate the founding of Specialized. In 1973, a love of cycling inspired Mike Sinyard to sell his Volkswagen and head to Italy. On this trip, Mike fell in love with the quality and beauty of Italian components. His mission became to bring these products to American cyclists, and thus Specialized Bicycle Components was born. Pairing the Aethos with a top-tier Italian product pays homage to Mike’s passion for riding and to cycling culture in Italy.

• The S-Works Aethos frame was designed to create the perfect combination of ride quality, light weight, and style—so you can accelerate even on steep climbs, descend the most technical downhills, and be comfortable during long Sunday rides. But you may ask, how did we do it? We reinvented the traditional shape of the road racing bike of the past, subtly changing it to optimize stiffness and balance without compromising weight or strength. With an all-new layup, refined over many decades, we achieved the lightest frame on the market (585 grams for the S-Works frame misura 56). The Aethos is more than a new bike; it’s the beginning of a new generation.
• An ultra-light frame is useless if the handling doesn’t inspire confidence. That’s why for the Aethos we sought the perfect mix of front and rear stiffness in relation to ride quality. By studying compliance and every minute detail of the carbon fibers, we learned a great deal about how forces travel through the frame. Just a few pedal strokes will make you realize that the Aethos represents a new handling standard.
• For this Aethos Limited Edition, Campagnolo provided the brand-new Super Record EPS groupset and Hyperon wheels. The new 2x12 group is precise, fast, and wireless.
• Hyperon wheels are extremely light and therefore perfect for the Aethos’s climbing prowess.
