Cleat release is guided by fixed pins for easier and more consistent disengagement.Hope’s mechanism uses a specific cleat that is not compatible with all other systems. The pedals are sold with 2 cleat options: cleat number 4 offers 4° of float and has a 12° release angle, while cleat number offers 5° of float and has a release angle of 13 and has greater release effort for aggressive riding. Both cleats also allow 2 mm of lateral float (side to side).The pedal body is CNC machined from billet and is designed to maximize contact between shoe/cleat and pedal body for greater stability and power transfer.

The trend toward wider tires continues to increase and ever lower tire pressures pose new challenges for rims. Sidewall protection is also an issue on narrow rims with wide tires. Hope is addressing this need with the new Fortus rims. The welded rims are made of 6061 aluminum. The Fortus 30 has greater strength thanks to two additional hollow chambers. The spoke holes are equipped with eyelets for easy wheel building and improved durability. During the optimization of the rim profile, of course, the tubeless capability was also preserved. The installation of tubeless tires is as easy as with all other HOPE rims.
