Three years after the launch of the Scorpion tire family dedicated to the MTB world, Pirelli completes the gamma with two gravity products designed for the most demanding Enduro (EN) and Downhill (DH) races.

Scorpion™ Race M are the most versatile models: the central section is designed for precise and predictable traction under braking and acceleration. The side knobs are designed for maximum support and an easier perception of the limit. The SmartEVO DH supersoft compound is combined with large knobs to optimize grip on all types of terrain without compromising the overall stability of the tire thanks to a base compound that is more rigida. DualWall+ is the downhill-specific casing and consists of a dual-layer 60 tpi casing, reinforced with a side anti-cut reinforcement and a rubber insert for the bead. This structure is designed to provide superior protection against cuts and punctures and is designed to absorb small vibrations and big impacts. The DualWall casing specific to enduro, on the other hand, consists of a dual-layer 120 tpi casing, reinforced with a rubber insert for the bead. This structure provides protection and support, while having limited weight and the superior suppleness and speed of an Enduro Race tire.

Superior grip, better handling, and controlled damping: Pure race compound formulation with Cap&Base structure for optimized handling.

The key element of SmartEVO DH is the combination of two layers of rubber compounds: on the outside there is a super-soft high-performance compound, while inside, under the tread, there is a damping compound that provides support and impact absorption. The two compounds work together seamlessly, giving the rider a feeling of handling, responsiveness, and precision under extreme lateral loads typical of downhill racing. The outer rubber layer has been fine-tuned bearing in mind that rolling resistance is still a key factor when racing against the clock.

DualWall+
Fully predictable lateral support, better shock absorption, and high reliability: 2-layer 60 tpi TLR rigida casing with anti-pinch rubber insert and additional textile side reinforcement.
