The new P Zero Race TLRs are the first PIRELLI product with tubeless technology fully made in Italy, at the new Bollate factory.

The new generation of PZERO Race TLR is the most performing tire in the PIRELLI portfolio as well as the first tubeless-ready tire entirely made in Italy. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120tpi casing involves using a aramid-reinforced compound that coats the inner layer of the tire, improving both rolling efficiency and rubber resistance. Result: a less rigid but faster tire. The compound maintains the same advanced SmartEVO technology, shared with other high-performance PZERO tires.

TECHNOLOGIES

SmartEVO Compound

The racing formulation for road use, more advanced than ever, born from Pirelli’s experience in top Motorsport competitions and in close collaboration with the World Tour factory teams. The new SmartEVO Compound uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each providing performance in a perfect balance of opposite characteristics, such as grip and rolling resistance. The ternary polymer blend with “intelligent” behavior characteristics at the base of the exceptional properties of the SmartEvo compound enables better grip on dry and wet surfaces, while also improving rolling resistance. SmartEVO Compound is a high-performance compound tuned for the most modern cycling disciplines, from local races or the World Tour to epic adventures where weather and road surfaces require tires that excel in all conditions. SmartEVO is exclusive to the P ZERO range.

SPEEDCORE

The most performing tubeless-ready road structure in the Pirelli range foresees the use of a specced aramid-reinforced compound layer that coats the inner tire layer allowing air retention. This new structure makes the tire more resistant due to the presence of aramid, yet less rigid and faster, for greater flexibility of the compound compared to a bead-to-bead fabric. The casing is then completed by a 120tpi Nylon layer and by a puncture-resistant layer, also in aramid.
