The new P Zero Race TLR are the first PIRELLI product with tubeless technology made entirely in Italy, in the new factory in Bollate.

The new generation of the PZERO Race TLR is the highest performing tire in the PIRELLI portfolio as well as being the first tire with tubeless technology entirely made in Italy. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120 tpi casing involves the use of a compound mixed with aramid that coats the inner layer of the tire, improving both the smoothness and the resistance of the tire. Result: a less rigid but faster tire. The compound instead maintains the same advanced SmartEVO technology, shared with the other high-performance tires in the PZERO range.

TECHNOLOGIES

SmartEVO Compound

The most advanced racing formulation ever for use on the road, born from Pirelli’s experience in top Motorsport competitions and from specific collaboration with World Tour factory teams. The new SmartEVO Compound uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each of which provides performance in a perfect balance of opposing characteristics, such as grip and smoothness. The ternary blend of polymers with “intelligent” behavior characteristics as the base of the exceptional properties of the SmartEvo compound allows for better grip on dry and wet surfaces, while at the same time improving rolling resistance. SmartEVO Compound is a high-performance compound fine-tuned for the most modern cycling disciplines, from local or World Tour races to epic adventures where weather and road surfaces require tires that excel in all circumstances. SmartEVO is for the exclusive use of the P ZERO range.

SPEEDCORE

The most high-performance tubeless-ready road structure in the Pirelli range involves the use of a layer of compound mixed with aramid that coats the inner layer of the tire, allowing it to hold air. This new structure makes the tire more resistant, thanks to the presence of aramid, but at the same time less rigid and faster, due to the greater flexibility of the compound compared to a bead-to-bead fabric. The casing is then completed by a Nylon tela with 120 tpi and by an anti-puncture layer, also in aramid.
