The new P Zero Race TLRs are the first PIRELLI product with tubeless technology entirely made in Italy, at the new Bollate factory.

The new generation of the PZERO Race TLR is the most performant tire in the PIRELLI portfolio and the first tubeless tire entirely made in Italy. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120tpi carcass provides the use of an aramid-infused compound that coats the tire’s inner layer, improving both rolling efficiency and rubber durability. Result: a tire that is less rigid but faster. The compound, however, maintains the same advanced SmartEVO technology, shared with the other high-performance PZERO tires in the range.

TECHNOLOGIES

SmartEVO Compound

The racing formulation for road use ever more advanced, born from Pirelli’s experience in top Motorsport competitions and the specific collaboration with World Tour factory teams. The new SmartEVO Compound uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each providing performance in a perfect balance of opposing characteristics, such as grip and rolling resistance. The ternary polymer blend with “intelligent” behavior characteristics as the base of SmartEvo’s exceptional properties allows for better dry and wet grip while improving rolling resistance. SmartEVO Compound is a high-performance mix tuned for the most modern cycling disciplines, from local races or the World Tour to epic adventures where weather and road surfaces require tires that excel in all conditions. SmartEVO is for exclusive use within the P ZERO range.

SPEEDCORE

The most performing tubeless-ready road structure in the Pirelli range features a layer of aramid-reinforced compound that coats the tire’s inner layer, enabling air retention. This new structure makes the tire more resistant thanks to the presence of aramide, but at the same time less rigid and faster, due to greater flexibility of the compound compared to a bead-to-bead fabric. The casing is completed by a 120tpi Nylon cloth and a puncture barrier, also in aramid.
