The new P Zero Race are the first PIRELLI product made entirely in Italy, at the new Bollate factory.

P ZERO™ Race is designed to offer all the advantages of inner tube technology in a versatile, race-ready tire that outperforms any bicycle tire made so far, including tubulars. P ZERO™ Race combines the benefits of inner tube technology with an all-round cycling tire for intense training sessions and racing. The TechBELT Road casing improves reliability against punctures without making the tire heavier, while the special SmartEVO Compound improves grip performance on dry and wet asphalt compared to our previous cycling compounds.

SmartEvo compound
The most advanced racing formulation for road use ever, born from Pirelli’s experience in top Motorsport competitions and from specific collaboration with World Tour factory teams. The new SmartEvo Compound uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each providing performance in a perfect balance of opposing characteristics, such as grip and smoothness. The ternary blend of polymers with “intelligent” behavior characteristics as the base of the exceptional properties of the SmartEvo compound allows better grip on dry and wet surfaces while improving rolling resistance. SmartEvo Compound is a high-performance compound fine-tuned for the most modern cycling disciplines, from local races or the World Tour to epic adventures where weather and road surfaces require tires that excel in all circumstances. SmartEvo is for exclusive use of the P ZERO range.

TechBELT Road
120 and 60 TPI casing with the addition of a nylon anti-puncture reinforcement layer under the tread makes it an extremely reliable configuration capable of ensuring high levels of comfort for every type of use, from training to daily commuting. The TechBelt Road structure is for exclusive use of the P ZERO ranges.

Optimized for modern 19C wheels
Pirelli P Zero Race has been developed and optimized for new rims with a 19C internal channel; the best performance is obtained based on the rim misura and rider weight, with which to calculate the optimal operating pressure. Due to construction and adaptation to the most current standards, every misura of P ZERO Race features a wider tread than the corresponding P ZERO Velo: a wider and more elongated contact patch, to the overall advantage of smoothness, puncture protection, and cornering control.
