S-WORKS SPECIALIZED EPIC 8 FRAME

The new Epic 8 is the exaltation of the concept of speed as the sum of obstacle-handling capability, efficiency and lightness. Modern XC courses demand ever higher performance from bikes, and this is why on the Epic 8 we have further refined and perfected the suspension kinematics, achieving an even more efficient pedaling. The shocks, equipped with custom specifications and tuning, are able to absorb every impact and make the Epic 8 a wolf in sheep’s clothing. If you are an XC racer and your goal is maximum speed, the Epic 8 is the perfect bike.

GREAT CAPABILITY: the 120mm travel and progressive geometry make the Epic 8 extremely capable on technical trails, very fast and efficient on climbs and incredibly responsive and quick in acceleration. In addition, the torsional and lateral stiffness ensures perfect steering precision.

WHAT BUMPS?: Compared to the previous model, the Epic 8 absorbs 12% more impact forces and vibrations, so you get less tired and can use your energy better to push harder on the pedals.

RIDE DYNAMICS: The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has developed a custom tune for the shock of the Epic 8, whose characteristics elevate the holistic riding experience. The specific tuning developed together with the leverage ratios and the renewed kinematics exponentially improves handling.

BIOMECHANICAL EFFICIENCY: By optimizing the kinematics of the Epic 8, the Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has reduced pedal-induced motion by 20%, while keeping the suspension active for more effective bump management. In this way the rider is able to maintain the most efficient pedaling position. The result is the most efficient full-suspension bike we have ever made.

MORE WITH LESS: With the Epic 8 we did not add a single gram of weight to improve its characteristics. All models now feature SWAT 4.0 and an integrated steering-stop to prevent frame damage in the event of a slide.

The new S-Works Epic 8 frame is even 76 grams lighter, while still adding these features.
