The Gripton compound uses “predominantly synthetic rubber reinforced with silicon dioxide,” which reduces the amount of energy lost through hysteresis. This means the tire deforms less easily, accumulates less heat, and is more efficient, with improved wear resistance compared to natural rubber. The Gripton compound is soft and also conforms to rough surfaces. The 56A durometer makes this tire much softer than others; it conforms to surfaces and also filters vibrations, making the ride smoother.
