GENIE—The flying carpet: The biggest innovation on the Stumpjumper 15 is GENIE. This air-sprung, patent-pending technology we invented fulfills three wishes of every cyclist: the feel and control of a coil spring, better bottom-out resistance than a standard air spring, and an adjustable platform for a playful feel.

THE 'GENIUS': GENIE combines the linear stiffness of a coil spring that improves control through the “hit zone” with the progressive curve of air spring at the end of travel to prevent bottoming out. Truly, it’s the best of both worlds—coil and air—with extra adjustment range. Say goodbye to compromises and welcome the future of suspension.

WHAT TRAVEL?: With grip-force management better by 16.3% than a traditional air-sprung shock, GENIE ensures the Stumpy 15 works like a bike with more travel. For example, the Stumpjumper 15 (rear travel 145 mm) and our Enduro (170 mm travel) both use 101 mm of travel to absorb a 1080 N impact.

GO-ANYWHERE TRACTION: Field testing shows that the Stumpjumper 15 with GENIE provides 57% better traction than a standard air-sprung shock because GENIE offers flexible performance similar to a coil spring, keeping the wheel in contact with the ground longer than a typical air spring.

GOODBYE BOTTOM OUT: 39% fewer bottom-out events than a standard air spring. With big impacts, you’ll benefit from the progressive curve in the last 30% of GENIE’s travel. Thanks to its two-stage behavior, GENIE reduces the frequency and gravity of bottom-out events.
