The SPECIALIZED COCKPIT ROVAL RAPIDE HANDLEBAR 31.8X400 120MM, lightweight and aerodynamic, is perfect for reaching the finish line quickly. The handlebar was developed in collaboration with the top athletes of the Specialized team and the Retül Fit team and is aerodynamic, lightweight, and stiff: the perfect mix to be able to seize victory.
The absence of connecting components between handlebar and stem makes it possible to create an airfoil profile. A 4-watt improvement may seem small, but it results in a 32 cm advantage in a 250 m final sprint. When races are won by throwing the bike, this is a winning difference.
Without the connecting components between handlebar and stem, the Cockpit Rapide is 50 g lighter (100 mm x 420 mm) than the combination of Rapide handlebar with Tarmac stem. The handlebar is made of premium high-modulus carbon fiber, which provides the ideal stiffness for the biggest and fastest sprinters in the World Tour and has a higher stiffness-to-weight ratio than any two-piece system ever made by Specialized.
The 15 different combinations of stem and handlebar, all at -6 degrees, cover most racing positions. The radius from the tops to the drops has been sculpted for wrist freedom of movement both when riding out of the saddle and in an aerodynamic position.
