The Santa Cruz V10 8 is a pure downhill race bike, built on a top-level CC carbon frame, which guarantees maximum stiffness, low weight and exceptional strength, even on the most extreme DH tracks. The MX (mullet) concept – a combination of a 29" front wheel and 27.5" rear wheel – ensures the perfect balance between stability at high speeds and agility in the most technical sections, offering great confidence on the steepest descents and in tight turns. The suspension is entrusted to the robust RockShox BoXXer Base 200 mm fork and the RockShox Vivid Select+ Coil rear shock, a combination that guarantees precise control and consistent performance, even on the most extreme descents. The V10 8 frame geometry was developed and refined by the riders of the Santa Cruz Syndicate and features a rear triangle with adjustable length, allowing each rider to customize the riding position according to the track and riding style. CC Carbon In collaboration with our exclusive manufacturing partner, we are able to produce what we call CC carbon frames: the strongest, lightest and best performing in terms of handling. The wheels, drivetrain and suspension fitted on these models are also of the highest level. The combination of frame and components creates an extremely powerful complete package, capable of offering the best possible riding characteristics. Virtual Pivot Point (VPP™) Since 2001 we have been using the Virtual Pivot Point (VPP™) suspension system to offer the best balance between pedaling efficiency and bump absorption, all in an extremely robust and reliable structure. In summary, the VPP™ system uses two links that rotate in opposite directions to create a “virtual” pivot point, or instant center, which moves along the entire travel of the suspension and determines the path of the rear wheel movement. This virtual pivot makes the system highly tunable, allowing for extremely precise riding characteristics and ensuring the best possible experience, regardless of the Santa Cruz model used.
