The SPECIALIZED S-WORKS EPIC WORLD CUP FRAME is the perfect starting point to build the XC bike of your dreams. To achieve maximum speed through perfect efficiency in power transfer and ultra-precise handling, the Specialized engineering team has set a new standard in terms of torsional stiffness and bottom bracket stiffness. The double diamante layout is the most sophisticated in the history of Specialized and supports the stiffness objective by integrating the shock as a structural element.
The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has developed a revolutionary technology for the Epic World Cup to give it the efficiency and reactivity of a hardtail, plus the control and capability of a full-suspension bike. The RockShox SID Deluxe WCID (World Cup Integrated Design) shock with positive and negative air springs adjustable independently gives the Epic WC the coveted hardtail “scatto”, combined with terrain-devouring lightness and the possibility to adjust the set-up according to a specific course or personal preferences.
The 75 mm of travel of the Epic World Cup behave as if they were much more. When the bike is ridden in firm mode, it offers the same positive travel as a bike with 100 mm of travel set with 25% sag. The optimization of air volumes and damping characteristics allows the Epic WC to handle impacts like a bike with more generous travel. The dedicated MegaJounce bumper provides robust end-stroke support to handle the hardest impacts.
While the revolutionary SID Deluxe WCID shock provides the perfect mix of absorption and firmness at the rear, in the fork the BRAIN is alive and well, with Position-Sensitive technology and 15mm of sag, with no need for lock out or levers to operate.
The frame weighs only 1765 grams (painted, with shock and small parts) and this lightness translates into explosive accelerations, climbs with maximum efficiency, and surprising handling. The somma of these characteristics is speed.
The frame is sold together with the ultra-light and stiff Roval Control SL seatpost.
