The S-WORKS EPIC WORLD CUP FRAMESET is the perfect starting point for building the XC bike of your dreams. To achieve maximum speed through perfect power transfer efficiency and ultra-precise handling, the Specialized team of engineers has set a new standard in torsional rigidity and bottom-bracket movement. The double-diamond design is the most sophisticated in Specialized’s history, supporting the rigidity goal by integrating the shock as a structural element.
The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has developed groundbreaking technology for the Epic World Cup to give it the efficiency and agility of a hardtail, combined with the control and capability of a full-suspension bike. The RockShox SID Deluxe WCID (World Cup Integrated Design) with independently adjustable positive and negative air springs provides the Epic WC with the “snap” of a hardtail, along with lightness that eats terrain and the ability to tailor setup to a specific course or personal preferences.
The 75 mm of travel on the Epic World Cup behave as if they were much more. When the bike is ridden in firm mode, it offers the same positive travel as a bike with 100 mm of travel set up with a 25% sag. The optimization of air volumes and damping characteristics allows the Epic WC to manage impacts like a bike with more generous travel. The MegaJounce dedicated pad provides robust support at end of stroke to handle the most violent impacts.
While the revolutionary SID Deluxe WCID shock provides the perfect mix of absorption and stiffness on the rear triangle, the fork’s Brain is alive and well, with Position-Sensitive technology and 15 mm of sag, without the need for lockout or levers to operate.
The frame weighs only 1765 grams (painted, with shock and hardware) and this lightness translates into explosive accelerations, climbs with maximum efficiency, and surprisingly agile handling. The sum of these characteristics is speed.
The frame is sold together with the Roval Control SL seatpost, ultralight and rigid.
