REAR WHEEL DT SWISS GRC 1400 DICUT 30 DISC 12/142

An off-road experience of the highest level

In the fraction of a second when you leave the road behind and your arms anticipate the switch to rocky, fizzing terrain. The GRC 1400 DICUT is ready to tackle the vibrations and obstacles of a gravel route, so you can leave behind not only the road but also your shadow and your inhibitions! Two distinct rim heights: enjoy the great reliability and ride hassle-free on gravel sections as sparkling as champagne or confidently face the unpredictability of unbeaten rocky paths. 50 mm of aerodynamic optimization are ideal for KOM/QOM hunting and for beating your friends on your favorite gravel segment. The contained steering torque of the 30 mm high rim guarantees the agility needed for long adventures, freeing you from any limits. Both rims leave the mold finished thanks to a new patented manufacturing process that eliminates the need for a final coating, making your wheelset light yet strong, while you stand out from everyone. With the ideal performance/weight ratio of the 240 DICUT hub and the durable DT aero comp II spokes, the new GRC 1400 DICUT wheels can’t wait to hit the road. Now it’s up to you to decide: are you a hunter or do you want to stay out of the game?

New carbon rim mold

The new mold concept eliminates the need for a final coating, saving weight and providing an extraordinary finish.

Spokes

DT aero comp II t-head spokes guarantee an ideal balanced relationship between stiffness, aerodynamics, and durability.

Hub

Enjoy direct power transfer in every riding situation with the 240 DICUT and Ratchet EXP technology.

Ratchet EXP

DT Swiss hubs are known for their no-tool technology. We have found a way to refine this system and further simplify maintenance thanks to a slight modification of the bushings. Less weight: far more than an optimized reliability. The fusion of the ratcheting ring and threaded ring into a single piece represents a major advantage, as it reduces the number of components in the system. Less wear: The use of a single cylindrical spring guarantees a quicker full engagement, thereby improving reliability. The complete engagement of the gear rings creates a wide contact surface and, therefore, lower pressure loads, with a resulting increase in reliability. The integration of the bearing into the threaded ring allows maximizing the distance between bearings. This increase in spacing provides greater bearing support and reduces deflection, while also optimizing protection and durability of the bearings.

Aero+

The perfect symbiosis between strength, handling, and effectiveness. In refining a wheel according to the AERO+ concept, optimization of the various parameters is aimed at a single objective: increasing speed! Translational resistance is the aerodynamic force that slows the cyclist in the direction of travel. That force depends on the frontal impact surface of the cyclist (75%), the road bike and its components (25%), as well as speed. To minimize translational resistance, you must limit the impact surface of the rider/bike ensemble, optimizing its aerodynamics as much as possible. If you want to go faster, it is essential to reduce the aerodynamic resistance of the rider/bike ensemble, because the force increases with the square of speed. From 15 km/h upward, aerodynamic resistance is the greatest resistance the cyclist must overcome. The front wheel plays a fundamental role, as it accounts for 8% of the total resistance.

Tubeless technology

All DT Swiss wheels are tubeless-compatible, and ASM versions are tubeless-ready, equipped with tubeless tape and valves. Tubeless tires offer several advantages over the traditional tube-and-tat or tire setup: the tire can be inflated to lower pressures without risking pinch flats (snakebite punctures) and ensuring superior grip. Lower pressure provides greater comfort in the saddle and the absence of a tube eliminates friction between the tube and the tire, resulting in reduced rolling resistance on rough terrain and obstacles. The use of a tubeless sealant fluid allows the tire to self-seal punctures and small cuts. A big advantage for all those who love long rides and would be several kilometers away from the nearest repair shop in case of problems.

Rim technology

The creation of high-quality spokes marked the beginning of the company. DT was the synonym of high-quality Swiss spokes even before the foundation of the current DT Swiss AG. Today, DT Swiss spokes are synonymous with durability and precision and, thanks to their exclusive production process, offer an unmatched combination of lightness and stability.

New carbon rim stamping technology

An innovative, industry-unique wheel rim manufacturing process, and a non-destructive inspection of each product, layer by layer, allow lightweight yet strong rims for long-lasting riding. Traditionally, industry standard dictates building carbon rim parts separately, which can cause irregularities during assembly. Our new method lets us create a rim highly resistant to impacts, in which the outer layer fibers are not cut, thereby keeping continuous filaments in the impact areas. This results in a more robust structure, and imperfections are minimized.
