The new P Zero Race TLRs are the first PIRELLI tubeless technology product fully made in Italy, at the new Bollate factory.

The new generation of PZERO Race TLR is the most performing tire in the PIRELLI portfolio and also the first tubeless tire fully produced in Italy. The introduction of the new SPEEDCORE technology in the 120tpi carcass involves using a blend with aramid that coats the inner layer of the tire, improving both rolling resistance and tire durability. Result: a tire that is less rigid but faster. The compound maintains the same advanced SmartEVO technology, shared with the other high-performance PZERO tires in the range.

TECHNOLOGIES

SmartEVO Compound

The racing formulation for road use ever more advanced, born from Pirelli’s experience in the top Motorsport competitions and the specific collaboration with World Tour factory teams. The new SmartEVO Compound uses a blend of 3 different polymers, each providing performance in a perfect balance of opposite characteristics, such as grip and rolling efficiency. The ternary polymer mix with “intelligent” behavior features as the basis of the exceptional properties of the SmartEvo compound, enabling better grip on dry and wet surfaces while improving rolling resistance. SmartEVO Compound is a high-performance blend designed for the most modern cycling disciplines, from local or World Tour races to epic adventures where weather and road surfaces demand tires that excel in all conditions. SmartEVO is exclusively used in the P ZERO range.

SPEEDCORE

The most performing tubeless-ready road structure in the Pirelli range uses a layer of aramid-reinforced compound that coats the tire’s inner layer to seal the air. This new structure makes the tire more resistant due to the presence of aramide, but at the same time less rigid and faster, thanks to greater flexibility of the compound compared to a bead-to-bead fabric. The casing is then completed by a 120tpi Nylon cloth and an anti-puncture layer, also in aramid.
