The new Roval Rapide Cockpit is far more than the fastest way to reach the finish line. It is the fastest attacking tool we’ve ever built, with major aerodynamic advantages, shaving an additional four watts from the ultra-fast Rapide handlebar combined with the Tarmac stem. But to offer a winning edge, there’s more to it than pure aerodynamics. The goal for the Roval engineering team was simple: the Rapide Cockpit had to be the fastest handlebar we’ve ever made, with no compromises. It is aerodynamic, lightweight, stiff, and designed in collaboration with the world’s best athletes and our Retül Fit experts, so you can seize victory.

• AERODYNAMICS: removing the linking components between the handlebar clamp and the bar allowed us to design the bar profile in an airfoil shape. We optimized this airfoil to provide maximum clean-air benefit at speeds encountered in long solo breaks and even in full World Tour sprints. While a four-watt improvement may seem small, it translates to a 32 cm advantage on a final 250 m sprint. When races are won by launching the bike, this is a winning edge.
• LIGHTWEIGHT AND STIFF: By removing the stem-to-bar linking components, the Rapide Cockpit is about 50 grams lighter (100 mm x 420 mm) than the Rapide handlebar with a Tarmac stem. Made from premium high-modulus carbon fiber, which offers the ideal stiffness for the World Tour’s biggest, fastest sprinters, the Rapide Cockpit has a higher stiffness-to-weight ratio than any two-piece system we have ever produced.
• POSITIONING: The drawback of one-piece cockpits has long been positioning, but we collaborated with our Retül Fit professionals and top athletes to ensure that nearly all riders can find their proper saddle position. We offer 15 different combinations of handlebar clamp and handlebar, all at -6 degrees, covering most race positions. The rise from top to the drops is sculpted for wrist freedom both in drop-out position and tucked in an aerodynamic position, while curvature and flare reflect our favorite Rapide handlebar.
• Engineered with an aerodynamic profile for a 4-watt advantage over a traditional aerodynamic handlebar.
