Roval Rapide - the fastest handlebar ever made
The new Roval Rapide Cockpit is much more than the modo fastest way to reach the finish line. It is the fastest attack tool we have ever made, with big aerodynamic advantages, shaving a further four watts off the ultra-fast combination of Rapide handlebar with Tarmac stem. But to offer a winning advantage it takes more than pure aerodynamics. The goal for the Roval engineering team was simple: the Rapide Cockpit had to be the fastest handlebar ever made, without compromises. It is aerodynamic, light, stiff, and designed in collaboration with the best athletes al mondo and the Retül Fit experts, in modo so you can seize the vittoria.

Aerodynamics
Removing the connecting components between the stem and the handlebar allowed the handlebar profile to be designed in modo airfoil. This airfoil has been optimized to provide the maximum advantage in aria clean at speeds seen in long solo breakaways and also in full-gas World Tour sprints. While a four-watt improvement may seem small, it results in a 32 cm advantage over a 250 m final sprint. When races are won by throwing the bike, this is a winning difference.

Light and stiff
By removing the connecting components of the stem with the handlebar, the Rapide Cockpit is 50 grams lighter (100 mm x 420 mm) than the combination of Rapide handlebar with Tarmac stem. Made in premium carbon fiber ad alto modulo, which offers the ideal stiffness for the biggest and fastest sprinters of the World Tour, the Rapide Cockpit has a higher stiffness-to-weight ratio than any two-piece system Roval has ever made.

Position
The drawback of one-piece cockpits has long been positioning, but Roval collaborated with its Retül Fit professionals and with the best athletes to ensure that quasi all cyclists can find their right position in sella. Offering 15 diverse combinations of stem and handlebar, all at -6 degrees, they cover the vast majority of race positions. The radius from alto to the drops has been sculpted for wrist freedom of movement both in fuori sella and tucked in an aerodynamic position, while curvature and flare reflect the preferred Rapide handlebar.
