DT SWISS GRC 1400 DICUT 30 DISC 12/100 FRONT WHEEL

A record-setting off-road experience
In the split second when you leave la strada behind, and your arms anticipate the transition to rocky, effervescent terrain. The GRC 1400 DICUT is ready to take on the vibrations and obstacles of a gravel route, so you can leave behind non only la strada, but also your shadow and your inhibitions! Two distinct rim heights: rely on great reliability and ride trouble-free over sections of sparkling gravel like champagne, or confidently tackle the unpredictability of unbeaten rocky routes. 50 mm of aerodynamic optimization is ideal for hunting KOM/QOM and for beating your friends on your favorite gravel segment. The low steering torque of the 30 mm-high rim ensures the agility needed for long adventures, freeing you from any limits. Both rims come finished out of the mold thanks to a new patented manufacturing process that eliminates the need for a final coating, making your wheelset light yet durable, while you stand out from the crowd. With the ideal performance/weight ratio of the 240 DICUT hub and the robust DT aero comp II spokes, the new GRC 1400 DICUT wheels can’t wait to leave la strada. Now it’s up to you: are you on the hunt or do you want to stay out of the game?

New carbon rim mold
The new concept mold eliminates the need for a final coating, saving weight and providing an outstanding finish.

Spokes
DT aero comp II t-head spokes ensure an ideal, balanced ratio of stiffness, aerodynamics, and durability.

Hub
Enjoy direct power transmission in every riding situation with the 240 DICUT and Ratchet EXP technology.

TECHNOLOGIES

Ratchet EXP

I mozzi DT Swiss are known for their no-tool technology. We found a way to perfect this system and further simplify maintenance thanks to a slight modification of the bushings. Less weight: far more than optimized reliability. The fusion of corona dentata and threaded ring into a single piece represents a major advantage, as it reduces the number of system components. Less wear: Using a single cylindrical spring ensures faster full engagement, thus improving reliability. The full engagement of the corona dentata creates a large contact surface and therefore lower pressure loads, resulting in increased reliability. Integrating the bearing into the threaded ring allows the maximum possible distance between bearings to be increased. This increased spacing provides greater axle support and reduces its deflection while optimizing bearing protection and durability.

Aero+

The perfect symbiosis of resistance, handling, and efficiency. In perfecting a wheel according to the AERO+ concept, the optimization of various parameters is aimed at a single goal: increasing speed! Translational resistance is the aerodynamic force that slows the cyclist in the direction of travel. This force depends on the cyclist’s frontal impact area (75%), the road bike and its components (25%), as well as speed. To minimize translational resistance, you must limit the impact area of the cyclist/bike system by optimizing its aerodynamics as much as possible. If you want to go faster, it is essential to reduce the aerodynamic resistance of the cyclist/bike system, since the force increases proportionally to the square of speed. From 15 km/h and up, aerodynamic resistance is the greatest resistance the cyclist must overcome. The front wheel plays a crucial role, as it accounts for 8% of total resistance.

Tubeless technology

All DT Swiss wheels are compatible with tubeless technology, and ASM versions are tubeless-ready, equipped with tubeless tape and valves. Tubeless tires offer several advantages over the traditional inner tube and clincher combination: the tire can be inflated to lower pressure levels without risking pinch flats (the so-called “snakebite” punctures) and ensuring superior grip. Lower pressure offers greater comfort in sella, and the absence of an inner tube eliminates friction between the latter and the tire, resulting in reduced rolling resistance over terrain and obstacles. Using a tubeless system sealant allows the tire to self-seal punctures and small cuts. A great advantage for anyone who loves long rides and who, in case of problems, would find themselves several kilometers from the nearest mechanic.

Spoke technology

The creation of high-quality spokes marked the beginning of the company. DT was synonymous with high-quality Swiss spokes even before the foundation of today’s DT Swiss AG. Today, DT Swiss spokes are synonymous with durability and precision and, thanks to their exclusive production process, offer an unmatched combination of lightness and stability.

New molding technology for carbon rims
An innovative rim manufacturing process, unique in the industry, and a non-destructive inspection of every product, layer by layer, allow for lightweight yet durable rims for a long-lasting riding experience. Traditionally, the industry standard is to build carbon rim parts separately, which can lead to irregularities during assembly. Our new method allows us to create a rim that is particularly impact-resistant, in which the fibers of the outer layers are not cut, thus maintaining continuous strands in impact areas. In this way, a more consistent structure is obtained, and imperfections are minimized.
