FRONT WHEEL DT SWISS GRC 1400 DICUT 30 DISC 12/100

An off-road experience of prime quality
In the fraction of a second when you leave the road behind you, and your arms anticipate the transition to rugged, bubbling terrain. The GRC 1400 DICUT is ready to face the vibrations and obstacles of a gravel course, so you can leave behind not only the road, but also your shadow and your inhibitions! Two distinct wheel heights: leverage the great reliability and pedal effortlessly over gravel stretches that fizz like champagne or confidently face the unpredictability of unbeaten rocky routes. 50 mm of aerodynamic optimization are ideal for KOM/QOM hunting and for beating your friends on your favorite gravel segment. The restrained steering torque of the 30 mm height wheel guarantees the agility needed for long adventures, freeing you from any limits. Both wheels are finished from the mold thanks to a new patented manufacturing process that eliminates the need for a final coating, making your wheel set light yet tough, while you stand out from everyone. With the ideal performance/weight ratio of the 240 DICUT hub and the durable DT aero comp II spokes, the new GRC 1400 DICUT wheels can’t wait to leave the road. Now it’s up to you to decide: are you a hunter or do you want to stay out of the game?

New carbon rim mold
The new mold concept eliminates the need for a final coating, saving weight and delivering an extraordinary finish.

Spokes
DT aero comp II t-head spokes ensure an ideal and balanced ratio between stiffness, aerodynamics, and durability.

Hub
Enjoy direct power transfer in every riding situation with the 240 DICUT and Ratchet EXP technology.

TECHNOLOGIES

Ratchet EXP

DT Swiss hubs are known for their no-tool technology. We have found a way to refine this system and further simplify maintenance thanks to a slight modification of the bushings. Less weight: far more than optimized reliability. The fusion of the toothed crown and threaded ring in a single piece represents a major advantage, as it reduces the number of components in the system. Less wear: The use of a single cylindrical spring guarantees a faster, full engagement, thus improving reliability. The complete engagement of the gear teeth creates a large contact surface and, therefore, lower load pressures, resulting in increased reliability. The integration of the bearing into the threaded ring allows maximizing the distance between bearings. This increased spacing provides greater axle support and reduces deflection, while optimizing bearing protection and durability.

Aero+

The perfect symbiosis between strength, handling, and effectiveness. In refining a wheel according to the AERO+ concept, optimization of the various parameters is aimed at a single goal: increasing speed! Translational resistance is the aerodynamic force that slows the cyclist in the direction of travel. This force depends on the frontal area of the cyclist (75%), the road bike and its components (25%), as well as speed. To minimize translational resistance, you must limit the impact surface of the cyclist/bike assembly, optimizing its aerodynamics as much as possible. If you want to go faster, it is essential to reduce the aerodynamic resistance of the cyclist/bike assembly, because the force increases with the square of speed. From 15 km/h up, aerodynamic resistance is the greatest resistance the cyclist must overcome. The front wheel plays a fundamental role, as it represents 8% of total resistance.

Tubeless technology

All DT Swiss wheels are tubeless-ready and ASM versions are prepared for tubeless systems, equipped with tubeless tape and valves. Tubeless tires offer several advantages over the traditional tube-tom and tire setup: the tire can be inflated to lower pressure levels, reducing the risk of pinch flats (snake bite flats) and providing superior grip. Lower pressure offers more comfort in the saddle, and the absence of an inner tube eliminates friction between the tube and the tire, resulting in reduced rolling resistance on terrain and obstacles. Using a tubeless sealant fluid allows the tire to self-seal punctures and small cuts. A great advantage for all those who love long rides and who, in case of trouble, would be several kilometers from the nearest repair shop.

Rim technology

The creation of high-quality spokes marked the beginning of the company. DT was synonymous with high-quality Swiss spokes even before the foundation of the current DT Swiss AG. Today, DT Swiss spokes are synonymous with durability and precision and, thanks to their exclusive production process, offer an unbeatable combination of lightness and stiffness.

New carbon wheel stamping technology
A novel wheel manufacturing process, unique in the industry, and non-destructive inspection of each product, layer by layer, allow lightweight yet strong rims for a long-lasting riding experience. Traditionally, the industry standard is to build carbon rim parts separately, which can cause irregularities during assembly. Our new method allows us to create a rim particularly resistant to impacts, where the outer layer fibers are not cut, thus maintaining continuous fibers in impact areas. This yields a more cohesive structure, and imperfections are minimized.
