The new Tech 4 lever has changed a lot, not only in terms of appearance. Hope has also made a big step forward in technical properties. The expansion reservoir has been enlarged and redesigned. Thanks to the new design, the Tech 4 brake lever can transmit 30% more braking power. For a particularly light feel of the lever, the spring speed has been reduced and a guide for the brake piston is used. The ease of movement is supported by an industrial ball bearing at the pivot point. The brake lever has become longer for better modulation and greater control. As before, the lever width and the actuation point can be adjusted without tools. The two-piece clamp for mounting to the handlebars makes installation easier, because no parts need to be removed from the handlebar for installation.
The V4 caliper is very rigid with large cooling fins. High braking performance, excellent metering and thermal sizing, which reliably locks in even the heaviest cyclists on the most difficult terrains.
The calipers, milled as usual from T6 2014 aluminum, are the result of development work with COSMOSWorks FEA (Finite Element Analysis). This allows reducing weight, improving aesthetics, and creating the ideal partner for the tech lever. Sealed bleed nipples allow easier maintenance and the extended fluid outlet simplifies the line routing. The brake pads can be easily removed from the top and removing the wheel during gear changes becomes unnecessary. The unique strength of this enormous brake caliper is the high internal width, which enables use of ventilated brake discs!
