The new Epic 8 is the exaltation of the concept of speed as the sum of the ability to tackle obstacles, efficiency, and lightness. Modern XC courses demand ever higher performance from the equipment, which is why on the Epic 8 we have further refined and tuned the suspension’s kinematics to offer an even more efficient pedal stroke. The dampers with custom specifications and tuning are able to absorb every impact and make the Epic 8 a wolf in sheep’s clothing. If you’re an XC racer and your goal is maximum speed, the Epic 8 is the perfect bike.

GREAT CAPACITY: the 120mm travel and the progressive geometry make the Epic 8 extremely capable on technical routes, very fast and efficient uphill and incredibly responsive and snappy on acceleration. The torsional and lateral stiffness also guarantees perfect steering precision.

WHAT SHOCKS? : Compared to the previous model, the Epic 8 absorbs 12% more impact forces and vibrations, so you tire less and can better use energy to push to the max on the pedals.

RIDE DYNAMICS: The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has developed a custom calibration for the Epic 8’s shock, whose characteristics elevate the holistic riding experience. The specific calibration developed together with leverage ratios and the renewed kinematics exponentially improve handling.

BIO MECHANICAL EFFICIENCY: By optimizing the Epic 8’s kinematics, the Specialized Ride Dynamics Team has reduced pedal-induced movement by 20% while keeping the suspensions active for more effective impact management. This allows the rider to maintain the most efficient pedaling position. The result is the most efficient dual-suspension we’ve ever built.

MORE WITH LESS: With the Epic 8 we did not add a single gram of weight to improve its characteristics. All models now feature SWAT 4.0 and an integrated head-stand stop to prevent frame damage in case of slides.

The new S-Works Epic 8 frame is lighter by 76 grams, while adding these details.
