GO FASTER: The Epic World Cup is the fastest XC race bike on smooth courses, thanks to an unparalleled combination of efficiency, control, and lightness. Champion Christopher puts it this way: “This bike gives me everything I could ask for from a hardtail, with the added control and capabilities of a full-suspension.” To create this racing machine, we adopted a fully integrated development approach, inventing a brand-new shock, also thanks to four decades of victories on the off-road racing stage.

• REFERENCE FRAME: To achieve maximum speed through perfect power transfer efficiency and ultra-precise handling, our team of engineers set a new standard in torsional rigidity and bottom bracket movement. The dual-diamond layout is the most sophisticated in Specialized history, supporting the goal of rigidity by integrating the shock as a structural element.
• FAST SUSPENSIONS: The Specialized Ride Dynamics Team developed revolutionary technology for the Epic World Cup to give it the efficiency and responsiveness of a hardtail, plus the control and capability of a full-suspension bike. The RockShox SID Deluxe WCID (World Cup Integrated Design) with independently adjustable positive and negative air springs delivers the “snap” of a hardtail while providing the lightweight feel that conquers the terrain and lets you tailor the setup for a specific course or personal preference.
• BEYOND ITS CLASS: The 75 mm of travel on the Epic World Cup behaves as if it were much more. When the bike is ridden in firm mode, it offers the same positive travel as a bike with 100 mm of travel set with a 25% sag. The optimization of air volumes and damping characteristics allows the Epic WC to manage impacts like a bike with more generous travel. The MegaJounce dedicated pad provides robust end-of-stroke support to handle the harsh impacts.
• BRAIN: While the revolutionary SID Deluxe WCID shock provides the perfect mix of absorption and firmness on the rear triangle, in the fork the BRAIN is alive and well, with Position-Sensitive technology and 15 mm sag, without the need for lockout or levers to actuate.
• LIGHTNESS: With a frame weight of only 1765 grams (painted, including shock and hardware), the Epic World Cup is the lightest on the market. This lightness translates into explosive accelerations, climbs with maximum efficiency, and surprising handling. The sum of these features is speed. We managed to design a frame so light yet rigid thanks to what we learned in the Aethos design, particularly with respect to carbon layup.
• SADDLER: The Epic World Cup comes equipped with the new Roval Control SL dropper post, ultralight and stiff.
