The floating axles offer a clear performance advantage thanks to their ability to match the exact width of the fork wheel mounting surface exactly to the spacing of the front hub flange, perfectly aligning the chassis and eliminating friction between the upper and lower fork legs.
The elliptical steerer tube optimizes stiffness-to-weight and, by adding material only where necessary, eliminates every superfluous gram.
