. The Podium Gold makes a statement and shines in combination with the Kashima coating. Each model comes with a numbered authenticity certificate signed by Bob Fox, as well as a sheet of gold stickers matched to the current FOX dampers. Do you prefer something more discreet? No problem, the classic black or FOX's signature orange are still available. The new cartridge lineup ranges from the GRIP X2 (focused on maximum downhill performance) to the GRIP X (focused on trail performance without compromise) to the GRIP SL cartridge (focused on light cross-country performance). The robustness of the fusion remains, the floating axle in combination with the Kabolt X bolt axle. Another highlight is the venting of the immersion tube and the integrated channels in the immersion tubes to improve lubrication and drain compressed air in the fusion. The proven FLOAT EVOL technology guarantees a perfect response. 36 mm stiff stanchion, exclusive SKF seals and closed cartridge ensure long life. So nothing can hinder the fun riding on the trail.
GRIP X Damping
This cartridge replaces the classic FIT4 and is the perfect companion for trail and all-mountain use. The goal was to reduce weight and simplify adjustments. It offers a finer response, greater suspension travel, and the ability to completely close the high-speed compression (HSC) phase, thus leading to a climb lock. There is also a low-speed compression adjustment (LSC), as well as a low-speed rebound (LSR). An internal floating piston (IFP) to absorb moved oil is now included in this cartridge. The result is a broader usage range and a strong focus on downhill performance.
EVOL
The enlarged negative air chamber improves fork response. This increases comfort because the failure torque has been reduced. Additionally, a more linear spring characteristic curve offers better performance, especially in the mid-stroke ranges.
FLOAT AIR SPRING
The FLOAT air spring system reduces the failure torque and provides a highly sensitive fork with full comfort even on small bumps, for every rider and at different air pressures. Similar to FLOAT dampers, the FLOAT suspension system is characterized by a positive and a negative air chamber, which automatically balance when riding. Every rider thus benefits from the correct and precisely balanced air pressure in both chambers. The spring rate progression can be adjusted with our air volume shims – allowing every rider to set the air spring characteristics exactly.
BLEEDERS
The bleed holes of the immersion tubes allow air pressure equalization with the press of a button. Pressure build-up in the immersion tubes drastically reduces fork performance and prevents full travel, while at the same time the fork's sensitivity and responsiveness suffer on small hits.
LOWER LEG CHANNELS
When a fork compresses, the air in the lower leg channels is also compressed. The more the fork compresses, the greater the pressure rise. This effect makes the fork respond more stiffly and may prevent using the full suspension travel. Overflow channels help solve this by directing compressed air from the bottom of the fork tubes upward, thus reducing the unintended pressure increase. An additional advantage of these channels is that the lubricating oil in the lower immersion tubes flows upward during the spring process and continuously lubricates the foam seals and the sliding bearings.
AIR VOLUME SHIMS
The FLOAT air spring on FOX forks and dampers can be adjusted with volume shims to make the suspension elements more or less progressive. This allows the rider to adjust the suspension precisely to their needs.
KASHIMA COATING
The Genuine Kashima Coat coating for a smooth ride is exclusively available only from FOX, the Kashima Coat logo is applied to both stanchions. The distinctive Genuine Kashima Coat gold coating offers overall superior performance and guarantees minimal friction and optimal response with maximum durability.
FLOTTING AXLE
Floating axles are similar to conventional through-axle systems, but offer a significant performance advantage. The special bearing ensures perfect alignment of the fork and avoids unwanted friction caused by tension between stanchions and lower tubes. Floating axles ensure a much smoother suspension movement across the entire fork travel and greatly improve the response behavior.
