The FOX 38 FLOAT FACTORY KASHIMA FLOAT 29 F-S 170 GRIP2 HSC/LSC ORNG KX110 R44 2023-2024 FORK is perfect to be mounted on Enduro MTBs with 170 mm of travel. It has the same revolutionary features as the 36 but redefines the characteristics of a long-travel single-crown fork and sets a new benchmark in terms of safety, performance, and durability.
The floating axles offer a clear performance advantage thanks to their unique ability to match the exact width of the fork wheel mounting surface with the spacing of the front hub flange, thus creating perfect frame alignment and eliminating unwanted friction between the upper and lower fork legs. The floating axles ensure a much smoother suspension movement along the entire travel of the fork, greatly improving sensitivity and overall ride quality.
The Fox 38 fork is equipped with a new quick-release lever floating axle system, patent pending, which combines the advantages of a floating axle with the ease of a tool-free quick release. With this system, the spacing is locked by a floating sleeve, which allows you to remove and reinstall the front wheel repeatedly while maintaining perfect fork alignment. The positioning of the floating sleeve is factory preset, so if you are not sure how to use the floating axle system or simply do not want to deal with it, you can simply install the front wheel and continue your ride.
The Kabolt-X axle is a lightweight floating axle that reduces weight and increases torsional rigidity thanks to its single-sided axle design without a sleeve. Frame alignment must be reset every time the front wheel is removed and reinstalled on both the Kabolt-X floating axle and the 40 one, but the end result is the same: perfect alignment and perfect performance.
When the fork compresses, the air volume inside the lower legs decreases, increasing air pressure. The more the fork compresses, the more the pressure increases. This effect can have the undesirable consequence of preventing full travel from being reached. The bypass channels, positioned at the bottom of the fork, help to alleviate this problem by drastically increasing the air volume inside, thus reducing the amount of unwanted additional pressure ramping.
The lower leg oil is circulated to the top of the lower legs, continuously lubricating the foam rings and bushings as the fork compresses and extends through its travel.
The lower leg bleed system allows pressure equalization with the simple press of a button. Pressure build-up in the lower legs drastically reduces fork performance, preventing maximum travel from being reached and decreasing sensitivity and responsiveness on small bumps.
Our brand-new lower leg design has been studied to reduce every possible gram, without compromising the stiffness and strength required by modern enduro and gravity bikes.
The arch design of this fork is intended to match perfectly with modern Enduro and Downhill bikes. Head tube profiles have become increasingly larger and fork offsets increasingly shorter. The new arch shape takes this need into account, protruding forward to provide ample clearance for the head tube at maximum compression.
The Grip2 damper is the benchmark for unparalleled ride quality and ultra-precise adjustment. It includes Variable Valve Control (VVC) technology, which allows fine external tuning of suspension performance. GRIP2 allows you to achieve, with the simple rotation of a knob, what usually requires the long and complicated task of fully disassembling and reassembling the fork.
The EVOL technology increases the volume of the negative air spring, optimizing small bump sensitivity. The linear EVOL spring curve offers greater suppleness at the beginning of the travel, more support in the mid-stroke, and a more adjustable end-stroke progression. The advantages of this technology are further enhanced by the new channels for the lower legs and the bleed valves that reduce the air pressure trapped in the lower legs, allowing the EVOL air spring to operate freely without unwanted interference.
