The brakes are the most important safety part of the bicycle. The replacement of any brake part must be carried out by a qualified mechanic who must follow the procedures of the bike manufacturer.
Check the wear of the rotor and, if necessary, replace it. Also check the correct operation of the braking system.
Check that the friction surfaces of the pads and rotor are not touched by grease, oli or altro that may reduce the friction properties. Non contaminate the friction surfaces with fluids, oli or grease that greatly reduce the efficiency of the brakes.
New pads must brake for at least 500 meters. The force on the lever must be light and progressively stronger to obtain step by step greater braking pressure.
