Two decades ago, we created the Road Endurance category, proving that ergonomics improves performance. Today, the Roubaix SL8 with the Future Shock 3.0 cartridge is lighter, faster and more comfortable than any other racing bike. • VIBRATION DAMPING: The Future Shock 3.0 cartridge is the new stella in the firmament, more adjustable and durable. Regardless of the position in sella, every rider can exploit 20mm of friction-free travel between the stem and the head tube. Your hands on the handlebar remain steady, ensuring smoother riding with more control so you can be faster, safer and more confident.
• The design with lowered clamp exposes a larger portion of the seatpost to increase its flex. The Pavé seatpost ‘controls’ this movement for optimal vibration damping in the vertical plane. These two things together form the “AfterShock” technology and, combined with the stiff rear triangle of the Roubaix, create a smooth ride without compromising efficiency.
• The Roubaix SL8 is the most comfortable racing bike ever tested by our Ride Science Team – it reduces impacts at the handlebar by 53% compared to other bikes in this category. With the Future Shock 3.0 cartridge the wheel flies over the obstacle while the rider remains stabile and holds the line on rough terrain. Normally, the fork flexes backwards on an impact, causing a loss of speed. It’s scientific: more comfort means more speed.
• CAPABILITY: The Roubaix pioneered endurance geometry, giving you the feeling of riding ‘in’ the bike, non ‘on’ the bike. This way the pressure on your hands, shoulders and arms decreases, giving you capability and confidence on any road.
• With clearance for tires up to 38c/40mm this endurance road bike provides exceptional traction on rough roads or gravel. Thanks to the light and efficient Specialized tires, this larger section has no drawbacks.
• The Roubaix makes you want to spend long days in sella, so we decided to equip it with tutto you might need for bike adventures – three bottle cage mounts, mount for a top tube bag and provisions for possible fenders. All that’s left is to set off!
• PERFORMANCE: The new Roubaix SL8 is the most aerodynamic in its category, with new tube profiles generated by our Free Foil library and with dropped seatstays. Taking advantage of the Aethos project – the lightest mass-production racing bike – we created the new frame that weighs only 825 grams, in FACT 12r carbon and 50 grams lighter than the previous one. No other bike in this category is faster or lighter than the new Roubaix.
